a long awaited holiday!

well, technically, i’ve been on holiday for the longest time ever since i’ve officially graduated from university. so, this should be the long awaited abroad holiday that i’ve been waiting for since, i don’t remember when. seriously speaking, when i booked the air ticket, it was so long ago that i don’t even remember how much was the price now. so, yea, it was a long time ago. anyway, i haven’t been blogging for quite some time, and i do realise that the longer i don’t blog, the lazier i’ve become. but then again, staying at home with nothing to do makes your mind really rusty with nothing to blog about.

the trip to bangkok was really spontaneous. there wasn’t any plan whatsoever. we were just talking about holiday and somehow bangkok came about and the period for cheap air ticket was around so we booked our tickets and, tada, it’s september and we’re finally flying to bangkok.

i didn’t hope for much in bangkok. i was just happy that i’m going somewhere other than singapore and it’s my virgin flight! the flight to bangkok was quite nauseating but the trip back was much better. guess i got used to it. contrary to my belief, bangkok is actually a much better place to live in. well, in terms of lower standards of living. nearly every essential items are cheaper than what is being sold in malaysia. and, we haven’t even talked about their salary and whatnot. you can actually see salesgirls playing with their expensive smartphones or ipads. and i’m not talking about high end shopping complexes. it’s wholesale area which means it’s pretty much run down. and even markets.

the streets are also so much more cleaner than malaysia. the toilets are unexpectedly clean. as far as i’ve seen the toilets in bangkok, there is no dirty toilet seats, and it’s relatively less smelly and easier to flush compared to malaysian toilets.

but, malaysia being home, is still the best, in my opinion. at the very least, i don’t walk about with my bags clutched in my chest and with no wallet. i guess, that’s just because i’m too paranoid. oh, and no matter how hot the weather is in malaysia, the weather in thailand beats us, hands down. and last but not least, while we always complain about how malaysian drivers are reckless on the road, try observing how bangkok natives drive. you’d be thoroughly surprised.

love,
natalie
